Looking for updates on my horse adventures?
Check out the Menagerie blog on my personal site:
All my life I've been a horse fanatic. I lived and breathed horses, and
for a few years as a teen, I was even able to have a couple. But then
I went to college and my career kept me tied to the city. Now, twenty
years later at age 36, I'm finally getting back into horses.
forgotten more than I remember about caring for horses, and much has changed
since I had my backyard ponies in the mid-80s. I've been reading tons,
I've joined horse-related mailing lists, and I've been driving all my
horse-owning friends crazy with questions.
most intents and purposes, I am a horse novice. The one edge I have, however,
is my animal training background. I understand how to modify behavior,
how to define what I want, and how to prevent problems before they become
problems. So I feel fairly confident that I will be able to successfully
work with my new companions. (Hopefully, I'm not over-confident.)
diary is my record of my horse adventures. I don't promise to update it
every day, but I will try to keep you up-to-date with our progress and
our activities. Enjoy!
